CAT COLLECTION
SPHYNX
DESCRIPTION
The modern Sphynx emerged in Toronto in 1966, when a single hairless kitten named Prune was born to an ordinary domestic shorthair, a genetic accident that has since been refined into one of the most distinctive breeds in the cat world. Despite its sleek nakedness, the breed shares its name with the most ancient and enigmatic of monuments, and carries something of that gravity in its gaze.
The Sphynx has become the icon of contemporary feline cool, appearing in Friends as Rachel's Mrs. Whiskerson, cast in Austin Powers as Dr. Evil's Mr. Bigglesworth, and beloved by collectors from Kourtney Kardashian to Steven Tyler. The breed has done for cats what minimalism did for architecture: stripped the form back until only essence remained.
The Sphynx edition is the most architectural in the REMUS Collection. A coral linen cover, the breed's velvety, almost mythological skin reimagined through extreme macro photography, every wrinkle, every translucent vein, every soft fold of warmth rendered as living sculpture. A tribute to the cat that proved the body itself could be a work of art.
