WEIMARANER

Bred in the early nineteenth century at the court of Weimar for the exclusive use of the German nobility, the Weimaraner was for decades the most jealously guarded breed in Europe. Its silvery coat, pale gaze, and aristocratic bearing made it the canine equivalent of porcelain, refined, rare, and reserved for those who could be entrusted with its company.

William Wegman immortalized the breed in his iconic photographs, dressing his Weimaraner Man Ray in fashion and tableaux that turned the dog into a postwar art-world celebrity. Princess Grace of Monaco kept one; Dwight D. Eisenhower brought his Weimaraner Heidi to the White House; Brad Pitt has been photographed alongside them. The breed moves through culture like a piece of living minimalism.

The Weimaraner edition is the most sculptural in the REMUS Collection. A charcoal linen cover, the breed's celebrated silver coat reimagined through extreme macro photography, every shaft of grey rendered as cool architecture, every glance translated into stillness. A tribute to the dog the Bauhaus would have designed had nature not done it first.
