DESCRIPTION

The Ragdoll owes its entire existence to a single white longhaired cat named Josephine, born on a Riverside street in California in the 1960s and bred by Ann Baker into something no cat had been before. The breed takes its name from the trait that defines it: lift a Ragdoll and it goes completely limp, surrendering into the arms that hold it, a creature engineered for trust.

It worked. The Ragdoll has topped the Cat Fanciers' Association's most popular breed list year after year, ending decades of Persian rule and becoming the most wanted pedigree cat in America. Blue-eyed, colorpointed, oversized and impossibly soft, it is the cat people describe as more dog than cat, and mean it as the highest compliment.

The Ragdoll edition is the most serene in the REMUS Collection. A periwinkle linen cover, the breed's silken semi-long coat reimagined through extreme macro photography, every strand falling without resistance, every colorpoint shading from cream to seal like light moving across water. A tribute to the cat that made softness its whole architecture.
