DOG COLLECTION
GOLDEN
DESCRIPTION
The Golden Retriever was created in the Scottish Highlands in the 1860s by Lord Tweedmouth, who sought the ideal companion for the Loch Ness estate, patient enough for the household, athletic enough for the hunt, and gentle enough for the children. He produced what many consider the most universally beloved dog ever bred.
President Gerald Ford walked a Golden across the White House lawn; the Obamas considered the breed; Andrew Garfield, Oprah Winfrey, and Adam Sandler have all kept them. In film, in family albums, and on the doorsteps of homes from Maine to Mumbai, the Golden remains the dog most often associated with that rarest of qualities: uncomplicated, radiant joy.
The Golden edition is the most luminous in the REMUS Collection. An olive linen cover, long silky golden fur captured through extreme macro photography, each strand catches the light like a thread of honey, each ripple a small movement of warmth. A book that celebrates the dog the world has, almost unanimously, chosen to love.
